The Teachers have put together a programme of work for all learners from 8-11.  Worksheets and guidelines on what to do and how to do it have been posted to you. This programme will cover two weeks work.  Please check your post box.

The Grade 12 learners need to stay in contact with other Grade 12’s to keep in touch with what is going on.

On Tuesday 10 August militant strikers entered the school buildings and protested by singing and toyi-toying in the school’s administration block.

Staff secured the main school blocks and no strikers entered the classrooms.  Striker leaders stated that if we tried to carry on with normal lessons they would return and close down the school.

With the current industrial action in progress the school management feels it necessary to inform parents that although the school is officially open, we cannot guarantee the safety of the children who come to school should the strikers return.

Parents should therefore base their decision on whether or not to send their children to school on the current status of the strike action.  When a settlement is agreed to and announced on the national news channels, the school will immediately return to normal lessons.

Despite normal teaching being disrupted, learning should continue.

As soon as normal school reconvenes we will continue with our assessment programme.  i.e. trials, exams and tests.

We will ensure that testing will be on work that has been covered in class.

We urge all learners to prepare and learn for these exams now and use this time constructively.
